CHS held a special assembly during lunch Feb. 5 to honor the nine football players signing college letters. The assembly included greetings from the principal as well as the superintendent.

Nestled between the rolling hills of Carlsbad, the new community park is home to multiple activies for patrons of all ages. The park features an aquatics center, skatepark, dog park, human park, baseball fields, and basketball courts.

Hannah Streitmatter is a senior at CHS with an inspirational internship. Hannah interns at an oncologists office because she wants to be a pediatric oncologist as an adult. Hannah says she has "always wanted to work with kids" and she wants to raise awarness to pediatric cancer throughout her career.

Senior Alexa Ott, one of the many ASB members who dedicated her time to make CHS students feel welcome on the first day of school, hangs stars on the front gate of the school. ASB hung approximately 3,000 stars, a student name handwritten on every one, in the hopes of improving our campus spirit and sense of community.

The first activity of the assembly was a ballon pass off. The girls quickly passed the ballon until it made it to the top of the bleachers for the win.

As of Feb. 1, the battle lines have been drawn. Boys to the right and girls to the left as they face off at the battle of the sexes assembly.

Ashley Wang, a student in the CHS band, spends her free time practicing the flute. She has been playing the flute for nearly 5 years and looking forward to her upcoming competition.
