Lancer Link: How did you get into cross country?
Sean Unger: I was a good runner in middle school and elementary school. I didn’t run for my middle school but I just wanted to get into a new sport.
LL: What sacrifices have you made for cross country?
SU: Just working everyday after school and on the weekends. You have to keep practicing and it cuts time out of doing homework.
LL: Why do you enjoy cross country?
SU: I enjoy the people in it mostly. Everyone is really close and we’re all good friends. Also the happiness you get when you finish a race and the sense of accomplishment.
LL: What motivates you to continue running?
SU: I want to be better for the team because we have a really good team this year and I want to become better for my and for myself.
LL: What advice to you have for younger runners?
SU: My advice would be to work hard and to try to be intimidated by how hard it is. Just focus on your goal and keep working towards it.
