Sophomore class president Lily Nolte also held the same position during her freshman year. She enjoys the teamwork aspect of being on Student Council and aims to make as many improvements as possible this year.

“I was interested in being involved in our school and being a leader on campus for others,” Nolte said. “I’m most looking forward to meeting all the people I am going to be able to work with and spend time with to better the school.”

Nolte is very involved on campus, participating in soccer and tennis. Her involvement in Student Council and sports has taught her skills she plans to use to better her class.

“I can use the leadership I learned from being a soccer team captain to apply that to being someone who leads by example to be able to set the tone,” Nolte said.

Nolte is looking forward to holding this position this year and she wants to start making improvements for her class in the coming months. Participation is a big part of the community of Carlsbad, so she wants to focus on getting everyone involved.

“This year I plan on improving many things for my class such as getting everyone involved in spirit days and I overall just want to see the class participation,” Nolte said. “This year it’s going to be a good year.”
