Jake Saftig is a senior at Carlsbad High School and this is his first year on staff as a photographer. He enjoys playing lacrosse and long walks on the beach. His motivation comes from his pride of his home soccer team RBBaseball69. Loves to CIGE. I like to lose SD cards and then blame it all on my house burning down or my car getting broken into!

The rare White Peacock rests in a hole Sunday afternoon at the Leo Carrillo Ranch. The thirteen year old bird has only been seen out in the open a handful of times by the Ranchs workers. The White peacock is not albino because it does not have red eyes.

The art programs at Carlsbad are open to anyone willing to learn. The art classes are open to all grade levels so just talk to your counselor if youre interested.

Carlsbad High School offers normal art classes along with ceramics, photography, and drawing and painting classes. Students can choose which class best suits their artistic abilities.
