In September 2024, pop star Sabrina Carpenter began her tour, “Short n’ Sweet.” Since then, the album has broken records alongside her 2025 album, “Man’s Best Friend,” which has earned a total of six Grammy nominations for the 2026 ceremony, in categories including Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. This additional album release during the tour led to the “Even Sweeter” extension of the tour.
As an attendee of the November 16th performance at Crypto Stadium, I absolutely loved the show. I found the theatrical wardrobe and Carpenter’s vocals to be near-perfect, supported with lively dance routines and a not-so-short, but definitely sweet audience group.
Taking a look at her fabulously featured wardrobe, Carpenter is known for her luxurious gowns and glittering suits that accentuate her girly style. She began the show with a bedazzled bodysuit and robe, fashioning a Hollywood-themed bodysuit with a sheer babydoll cover dress. This design added a fun touch, switching up the color scheme from her usual bright baby blues and pinks to better connect with the location of the show.
Carpenter’s vocals were showcased in a variety of high notes and belting songs spread throughout the setlist, with a mix of fast and slow-paced songs to appeal to all attendees’ preferences. Her singing was both strong and soft, depending on the song, creating an equally enjoyable listening experience as her publicly released songs. Those that were adapted with new riffs and pitches were nice, but didn’t always show off her vocal range. Overall, though, it was impressive to see that she didn’t choose to lip sync and gave a raw performance with minimal background vocals.
The background dancers’ entertaining performances also complemented Carpenter and those of the other dancers, never distracting from Carpenter, and continually bringing the songs to life.
The Crypto arena was both large and very wide, making side views feel far and difficult to see. It did not pair well with Sabrina’s setup either, which catered to the right side over the left. However, the seats were stacked in a way that prevented height differences from obstructing one’s view. By changing a few men’s restrooms to women’s, the stadium also had a sufficient number of restrooms for the mostly female audience. Most concerts typically run into issues with this, making it a pleasant surprise that allowed me to avoid long lines and prolonged waiting.
As far as crowd interaction and personal touches for the Los Angeles show, Carpenter led the most adorable chats with her fans. On LA night two, she even opened up about previous relationships and her small beginnings. However, I was disappointed to see that her opener, Amber Mark, received the infamous fuzzy pink handcuffs referenced in the song “Juno.” While other stars like Conan Gray regularly use prompts with the fans, Carpenter typically chooses celebrities (including Anne Hathaway, Gigi Hadid and Jack Antonoff at previous shows). While an exciting feature to draw attention to other celebrity appearances, it was disappointing not to see any ordinary fans getting this opportunity to interact with Carpenter.
The successful tour has even brought Carpenter back to acting as she prepares for the main role in “Alice in Wonderland.” Recent talk has also revealed that Amanda Seyfried hopes to get the pop singer on set for “Mamma Mia 3.” As for my experience at this amazing concert, it was one I will never forget. The night was near perfect, and Carpenter put together a wonderfully entertaining show that I would recommend to anyone looking for a night of fun.
