Slideshow: Destruction of the Gap in photos

Seannie Bryan, Staff Photographer

Photographer Seannie Bryan captures the final moments of Carlsbad High School’s most famous skating spot,  The Carlsbad Gap, on Feb. 23.  Just before construction crews demolished the site, some of its most famous riders returned to pay homage to the historic location.  Professional skater Kris Markovitch, who launched the Gap into notoriety 18 years ago, took a final ride on one of the most daunting obstacles in skating lore.
