The Super Bowl is the most watched sporting event in America’s history. The game will be played on February 8th, 2026 at Levi’s Stadium, sports analysts around the country have disputed on who they think will get to the Super Bowl and who will win.
9th grader, Kaikea Mingo was interviewed to hear his picks for who he thinks will win this year’s Super Bowl. Mingo is riding with the favorite this year.
“I think the Seahawks will win the Super Bowl because they have the best overall stats and their defense has been solid all year,” Mingo said. “Our offense with Darnold and Smith-Njigba will dominate every team we face.”
9th grader Dylan Galli was interviewed for his perspective on the Super Bowl. Galli is taking a bit of an underdog to win it.
“I think that the Rams are going to win,” Galli said. “They are my hometown team and they have the MVP favorite Matthew Stafford and offensive player of the year favorite Puka Nacua. Our defense is pretty good too.”
Underrated teams often go on runs in many playoff sports and are known to be called “cinderella” runs deep into the playoffs. We have seen this in the past couple years, including the Washington Commanders last year.
“I think that the Texans are an underrated pick to win this year,” Mingo said. “They will carry the momentum of their 10 game win streak into the playoffs, their defense is also the best in the league, so they should win most games because of their defensive strength.”
Most analysts and casuals in today’s world always seem to have an unexpected pick for who they think is an untalked about contender. There seems to be a consensus between Galli and Mingo on who they think is a contender.
“The Texans are my underrated pick this year,” Galli said. “They have a top three defense and their offense has looked pretty solid going into the playoffs.”
In the sports world, many analysts have already spoken about who they think is an overrated team this year, which seems to be the New England Patriots. Mingo has an unexpected pick for who he thinks is overrated.
“I think the Broncos are a bit overrated this year, even though they are the one seed,” Mingo said. “With all the one score wins, I don’t know how they’ll put up against the other teams so far. Their schedule was also one of the easiest in the league and they had a lot of one score wins this season.”
Mingo and Galli have different opinions on who they think is overrated. In fact, both of their picks are in the AFC.
“The Patriots are obviously the most overrated team in the NFL,” Galli said. “They had the easiest schedule in the league and their offensive line is horrible.”
The NFL is a crazy league, we will only have to wait to see who will hold up the Lombardi Trophy on February 8th. Despite his picks, Galli has a hot take on this year’s playoffs.
“This year, I believe any team can win, even if they had an easy schedule or if they barely got in the playoffs.”
