Senior Lexi Mollner is confident in her next year of golf, using superstitious techniques and talent. Although she may not pursue golf in college, she is enjoying the golf season while it lasts.
Lancer Link: How long have you been playing golf and how did you get into this sport?
Lexi Mollner: “I’ve been playing golf for nine years and my dad is a golfer.”
LL: What are your college sport plans?
LM: “I’m actually deciding not to play golf in college because I want to go to nursing school, so it might be too much on my plate. I could join the club team, but right now golf isn’t in the plans.”
LL: What are you most proud of?
LM: “What I’m really proud of is my hard work I put in, and that I’ve been on the varsity team for four years. I’m proud that my co-captain and I have really rallied our team this year.”
LL: Do you have any superstitions or rituals? Explain one.
LM: “Yeah, we have a lot of superstitions on our golf team and me personally , my sports bra has the same color for certain matches, and I have to play with Rebecca Allen. If I don’t, I do horrible. I have a special ball also in my bag that I don’t play with, but I keep it in there. I also put three blue dots on my golf balls.”
LL: If you could play any other sport, which one would you want to play and why?
LM: “I would probably play beach volleyball because I used to play when I was younger and I really liked it, but I stopped.
