In order to show their love and support for the late Mr. Harper, Interact club will be selling wristbands to raise money in support of his children. All of the money raised from the wristbands will go directly to benefit his three children Jake, Jackie and Joshua and provide them with everyday necessities.
“We wanted to remember Mr. Harper and all of the great things he did on campus,” senior Keziah Njoroge said.
The wristbands are made of silicon and engraved with a loving message “Forever in our hearts” in remembrance of Mr. Harper. They are also engraved with the letters “JJJ” for the three Harper children.
Wristbands will be sold at no more than one dollar a piece, and Interact club is happy the fundraiser is now underway.
“We are starting to sell them this month,” Njoroge said. “We want to keep the costs down so we can raise as much money as possible. We’ll be selling them through the Interact officers or you can come to our meetings on odd Tuesdays in room 3103,”
Although Interact club receives help from organizations in the community, they also thrive on student participation.
“Due to the help and support of our local Rotary club, we are able to come up with this idea to give back to the community,” Njoroge said.
Interact club hopes the wristbands will be a big success as this is a great way for students to show their support and gratitude toward Mr. Harper and the wonderful things he did for Carlsbad High School.
“It’s important for people to support this cause because the kids are in great need of love and support,” Njoroge said. “And it’s a great way to give back to our school and community.”
