Carlsbad Outdoors #1

Sam Chacon, Photo Editor

For the first installment of Carlsbad Outdoors we visited Calavera Mountain. The hike consisted of two trails, one of which goes around the mountain itself, and the other around a lake at the base of the mountain. The hike is extremely manageable for people on the more un active side due to he short length of the hike, but climbing up the face of the mountain is by no means an easy task. Overall this is a great place to watch the sunrise because of its eastward direction, as well as a great hike for a more relaxing time. We would recommend this hike for anyone because of the variety of paths and difficulties this hike has to offer.
