Barrett Brennan #8: Middle linebacker and Tight end

Barrett Brennan is a middle linebacker and tight end on the varsity team and is a captain this year.

One of Brennan’s favorite memories of playing football at Carlsbad was the most recent homecoming game.

“My most memorable experience would be our last homecoming game, it was a crazy game and just a great environment,” Brennan said. “We came back at halftime and came out with the win at the last second, and the fireworks and everything after the game was just the best experience for me.”

Playing for four years, Brennan shared his greatest challenges while being on the team.

“In my early years finding the proper balance for everything was the biggest challenge,” Brennan said. “Football is super time-consuming so balancing that with school especially as a freshman and sophomore was quite difficult but since then I found the perfect balance.”

Brennan’s role as a captain includes keeping his teammates motivated during the season.

“We just treat every week the same, and we don’t take anything lightly,” Brennan said. “We all have the common goal to win the next game, we are never satisfied and are always focused on the bigger picture.”
