BRIEF: Boys water polo advances to CIF Championship
On Nov. 3, the varsity boys waterpolo team played against Rancho Bernardo at the CIF San Diego Section 2018 Championship at La Jolla High School. At halftime, the score was tied 7-7, but the team ended up winning with a score of 18-11. With a record of 16-13, the boys have been training since the beginning of the season to prepare for this tournament.
“We have been working a lot on defense and a lot of conditioning this past week,” senior Davis Oas said. “That’s our game plan, to work on defense because our offense is really solid.”
The team will be moving on to the second game to determine whether or not they will bring home the championship. The boys waterpolo team had a 10-year streak of being CIF Champions, and they hope to continue this. The game will take place at Carlsbad High School at 7:30 on Nov. 6.
“We pulled our way second half which was an extremely good feeling,” Oas said. “Come out to the championship on Tuesday’s night game.”
