Dance Marathon at Carlsbad
Carlsbad High School hosted the first Dance Marathon for Carlsbad this past Friday on Mar. 1. Many students came out and raised money for the children at Rady Children’s Hospital.

Maddie Smith is a junior at Carlsbad High School who loves animals and creating videos. She is a part of the cross country team and is in the broadcasting program at her school. Maddie hopes to pursue her dreams in medicine, preferably at Purdue College in Indiana.

Johan de Rijke is a freshman at CHS who is in his first year in Advanced Journalism. Johan chose to do Journalism because he enjoys to write about others and tell stories. Johan's main goal at the moment is to excel in this class, and gain new knowledge in this field of work.
