On January 23rd Mr. Muilenbergs CP Marine class went on a whale watching field trip near Oceanside Harbor. He had taken all of his classes on different days, but on the 23rd his fourth period class was lucky enough to see a ton of wildlife. They saw a humpback whale and a pod of up to about 5,000 dolphins. The humpback whale was extremely rare as they are not usually seen in these waters. They were only hoping to see gray whales but instead saw a humpback fluke within twenty feet of the boat. It was truly a once in a lifetime sighting because of it being so rare to see a humpback, and to have it fluke so close to the boat. We thank Captain Joe of the Sea Star, for being such a great whale watching guide.

Hanging by his fingertips from Utah's highest peak, senior Jared Cohn adjusts the focus on his Cannon Eos 50D. Attempting to shoot the rarest of desert lilies, The Blue Turtle Claw, Jared removes his grip in order to keep the precious specimen in tact. It is experiences like these that make Jared Cohn Lancer Link's most valuable asset.
