Every student has holiday traditions that are unique to their families and cultures. Some of Carlsbad High School’s students share what tradition makes their holiday season special.
Jack Geraghty, 11
"My favorite holiday tradition is probably Christmas Caroling," junior Jack Geraghty said. "I try to go to as many houses and Christmas Carol, Let It Go from Frozen is my favorite song to carol to."
Nicole Burke, 11
"My favorite holiday tradition is when my family makes baked goods with recipes passed down from my great grandma," junior Nicole Burke said. "We give boxes of them out to our close friends."
Hailey Rutter, 11
"My favorite holiday tradition is opening all of our Christmas Presents on Christmas Eve because it' a European tradition from my Grandmas side of the family and it's really fun to do something a little different in honor of my ancestors," junior Hailey Rutter said.
Alyssa Zurita, 12
"My favorite holiday tradition is on the 23rd, my family has been doing this tradition for 30 years now, we make tamales with all the women in our family," senior Alyssa Zurita said. "We all go to my uncles house and we just make tamales all day, it ends up being like six hours of making tamales.
