Golden Milk Latte
Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties as well as a plethora of other health benefits. This foamy fall favorite highlights turmeric’s healing properties and is a great alternative to coffee.
Ingredients (one serving):
- 1 cup of non dairy milk (I used a combination of coconut and almond)
- ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg to taste
- ½ – 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (depending on desired sweetness)
Procedure:
Heat milk in a saucepan over high heat until barely boiling. Pour into a heat-safe blender, add spices and sweetener. Blend until smooth, about 30 seconds. Add more sweetener if desired.
Pour into a mug, top with nutmeg and extra cinnamon (optional) and serve.
This drink can be served chilled. In that case, you don’t have to heat up the milk beforehand.
