Ever since fourth grad, his love of competition has fueled senior Addison Sherwood’s passion for lacrosse.

Lancer Link: How did you get into lacrosse?

Addison Sherwood: In fourth grade, the San Marcos High School coach had an after-school clinic for all the elementary kids and I just stuck with it after that.

LL: What sacrifices have you made for lacrosse?

AS: A lot of free time with all my friends. I can’t say I’ve missed too much, though, because I love being there but it’s a pretty big time commitment.

LL: Why do you enjoy playing lacrosse?

AS: It is really fast-paced and I like everyone that I play with. I have great friends on my team and it’s just something I like putting my life towards.

LL: What motivates you to continue playing?

AS: The competition. If you ask anyone that I play with, I’m pretty competitive to say the least. I just like to win.

LL: What advice to you have for younger players?

AS: Don’t quit. A lot of the conditioning in lacrosse sucks but it’s all worth it when it’s over.
