It’s that time of year again. Girls are setting their hair appointments and hunting down the perfect dress while boys are thinking of the most creative way to ask that one special girl. Prom is right around the corner.

The date, time, and theme of this years prom have finally been announced and students are frantically preparing for the special night. With the much anticipated dance swiftly approaching, ASB has their hands full in preparation.

“Prom preparations began after Homecoming but we have been brainstorming ideas since the summer.” senior and ASB president Jackie Eghtesadi said.

Due to ASB’s hard work, prom goers can expect new and exciting surprises in store at this years Roaring 20’s themed dance.

“It’s going to be a lot different than proms we’ve had in the past,” Eghtesadi said. “The dance will be catered and there will be a build your own cheesecake and chocolate fountain.”

If the food isn’t reason enough to attend the dance then the free pictures surely are. This year students won’t have to pay for pictures at the dance, which in previous years have been quite expensive.

Another intriguing fact about prom this year is that Instead of camp Pendleton, prom will be held at the Hall of Champions in Balboa. The new venue opens up to much more opportunity.

“We are utilizing the whole venue and will have a lot of fun activities,” Eghtesadi said.”If you don’t spend at least an hour at the dance you won’t be able to experience all that prom has to offer.”

With all of the fun and surprising activities prom beholds it is anticipated to be the best dance yet.

Tickets go on sale May 6th and are $45 with an ASB sticker the first week and $55 without. The week before prom tickets are $55 for everyone. So, book your bus or limo and start arranging your plans for a night to remember!
