With new books comes new looks.

Thus, with every new school year new trends emerge. As students return to classes after summer, they attempt to make a statement with what they wear.  So, what trends are we seeing around school this year?

For the ladies, styles vary. However, the most prominent style seems to be the Bohemian or “boho” style. This look includes oversized and lace blouses, maxi-skirts, gladiator sandals, feather earrings and floral patterned dresses.

“Since school has started, I’ve seen a lot of the hippie look or ‘boho’,” junior Sara Johnson said. “Girls are wearing flowy skirts, feathers, and crocheted tops.”

On the other hand, the guys are wearing simpler clothes. There is always the traditional “jeans and a t-shirt” look for males, but now the guys are switching it up. V-neck shirts, baseball tees, tank tops, and other styles are the trend this year.

“The back to school trends for guys includes skinny jeans, V-necks, and button downs,” senior Kenrald Chua said.

No matter what may be trendy, each student manages to create his or her own style and stand out as an individual.

“I dress in clothes that portray my personality and make me look unique” senior Kayleen Grant said.
