La Costa Preserve is a 3.5 mile hike which deals with a large elevation climb. The hike is also popular for mountain biking and is even equipped with tools for the publics at the top of the mountain. The hike has a range of wildlife with the most abundant animals being lizards and snakes. The hike climbs to the highest point in Carlsbad making it great for a view of the ocean and city as a whole.
