Playing since middle school, Ken Ikedo is a vital contributor to the varsity water polo team. He strives to become a better player everyday to help his team.
Lancer Link: How did you get into water polo?
Ken Ikedo: Peer pressure. Most of my friends played, and they told me to quit swimming and try it.
LL: What sacrifices have you made for water polo?
KI: Free time is probably the biggest thing. Some studying time as well, but I’d rather stay committed.
LL: Why do you enjoy water polo?
KI: It’s a team sport. I get to hang out with all my friends and play water polo.
LL: What motivates you to continue playing water polo?
KI: My team and my coach motivate me. Each day I set myself a goal and strive to be the best I can.
LL: What advice do you have for younger players?
KI: Stay committed. You get out what you put in.
