Since the third grade, freshman Emma Veidt dabbled in a number of sports– her recent interest earned  her a place on the girls varsity cross country team. As an active swimmer, runner and soccer player, LL interviewed Emma for her diverse athleticism.

Lancer Link: How did you get into cross country?

Emma Veidt: This is my first year running cross country, but I’ve run track since seventh grade and played soccer since third.

LL: Why do you enjoy running?

EV: I don’t have to pay attention and its fun.

LL: What motivates you to compete?

EV: Just passing the person in front of me, and trying to keep passing people.

LL: What sacrifices have you made in order to run?

EV: Last year I had a problem with time management, but I’m trying to change that.

LL: Do you have any advice for up and coming runners?

EV: It may be hard at first, but it will get easier.
