A dedicated worker, sophomore Spencer Beyer is looking forward to his second year playing varsity lacrosse. LL had the chance to discuss with Spencer to get the details of what it’s like to be the midfielder on the team.

Lancer Link: How long have you been playing lacrosse?

Spencer Beyer: I picked up a stick in first grade, but I didn’t start playing organized lacrosse until fourth grade.

LL: What’s your favorite part of lacrosse?

SB: I’m not sure. I guess everything, just because it’s a lot of fun. If I had to pick one thing, I’d say my favorite part is scoring goals.

LL: What do you feel when you score a goal?

SB: If it’s against a goalie I know, I like to rub it in his face that I scored. But other than that, hearing the crowd cheer is pretty cool.

LL: How do you expect tryouts to go?

SB: Our coach probably already knows who he wants on the team, so it’ll be more like a regular practice. He’ll also evaluate whether or not a few JV kids will be pulled up.

LL: What are your expectations for varsity 2012?

SB: I expect us to have a winning season. We’ll definitely do better than last year because we’ll play better as a team.
