With his positive attitude and big heart, 18-year-old Luke Butler makes a great addition to the varsity football team. Lancer Link asked Butler questions regarding his passion.
Lancer Link: For how long have you been playing football?
Luke Butler: 11 years
LL: What is your favorite part about playing football?
LB: Being on the field with friends and running on fake grass.
LL: What inspires you to play well?
LB: The hopes of winning and representing for my school. Nick LaBounty is my biggest inspiration as well.
LL: Do you plan on playing football in college.
LB: I have been recruited to a culinary school in Ohio.
LL: What do you do at a typical practice?
LB: Run through plays, run, drink water, sweat, sometimes bleed, throw my elbow, get my head in the right side and gain ground.
LL: How does it feel when you win a game?
LB: I feel good and my adrenaline is rushing.
LL: Have you ever played any other sports?
LB: I do track, I throw shot put and discus, underwater basket weaving and snail racing.
