Disney has done it again

Time after time, Walt Disney Pictures has grasped the attention of millions through creating their captivating movies.Established in 1923, the company continues to make billions and draw in thousands of Disney movie lovers with each motion picture they release. Walt Disney Pictures has managed to make almost 100 years of their Disney Magic and many hope they continue for 100 more. During the next few years some of the most highly anticipated titles are hitting the theatres and the disney fanatics is more than excited. The Disney decade has begun.

Over the past few years, titles such as Moana, Zootopia, Finding Dory, Cars 3, and the live action Beauty and the Beast have stunned the Disney audience. These movies have ranked as some of the highest grossing animated movie titles in history, and the live action Beauty and the Beast grossed over one billion dollars in box offices around the world . According to Screenrant.com, 2017 through 2021, Disney is expected to release animated movies, Coco, Incredibles II, Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2, Toy Story 4, Frozen 2, Gigantic, and the live action titles Aladdin, The Lion King, along with Mary Poppins Returns as well as Disney’s own take on The Nutcracker, entitled The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.

“We love [our] characters so much; they are like family to us… We don’t want to do anything with them unless it lives up to or surpasses what’s done before,” the director of Toy Story 4, John Lasseter, said in an interview with OH MY DISNEY.

Toy Story 4 is said to be released on June 5, 2019; it is one of the more distant movies in the Disney future.  Most have already seen trailers of the upcoming Coco, which will be released Nov. 22, 2017. The movie follows young Miguel finding himself in the colorful and extraordinary world of the Land of the Dead. Following Coco, Incredibles 2 is set to come out June 15, 2018. Many people are excited for these films, as they are continuations of childhood films.

“I’m excited for Disney’s [new movies] because they’re always really good and it will be cool to see what they have in store for the next movies,” freshman Chloe Auerbach said.

The following of the Disney audience spans from toddlers to teens, even adults who love the disney classics. Disney has become a part of so many families over the years, and many old and new films have touched the hearts of millions, including some of Carlsbad High School’s own.

“Disney has become such a big part of my life over the years and it still is,” freshman Sara Mone said. “I’ve been able to take away so much throughout the years with all of the movies morals and life stories. I love how [Disney has] evolved and created such powerful stories, especially ones that give me confidence… I feel really happy that I’ve been able to experience that.”
