Lancers stay on your toes. Friday, Sept. 30 will be an eventful day. Not only is it our first home football game vs Torrey Pines high school, but ASB has planned a pep rally and tailgate party. ASB expects these events to be very successful and ongoing traditions for future home games so be sure to participate.

During lunch, head on down to the new gym for the first ever pep rally honoring all fall sport athletes. ASB has created mammoth posters which will decorate the gym, a sight worthy to see.

“Typically we will have music and class comps during pep rallies,” senior Keeghan Sebahar said. “We just want the students to get excited for the game.”

After school from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the quad, ASB will be putting on a tailgate. This tailgate serves as both a fundraiser and a social gathering. A tent, sponsored by KnockOut Pizza, will be set up to sell food to students. ASB will be face painting students in preparation for game day spirit. All CHS students are welcomed to participate in the tailgate, especially because admission is free.

“Because we only have four home football games, ASB has decided to theme them. Everyone loves the excuse to make a new T-shirt,” senior Shyenn So said.

This Friday’s game is themed Back in Black. Students and the community are asked to sport the color black while attending the football game. The goal is to intimidate the other team because our home stands will be a mob of unity and pride.

Limited Back in Black spirit shirts will be on sale for $10 during the pep rally, tailgate and before the football game. These will sell fast, so be sure to get one.
